Purpose

So what is BRIDGE 416 all about?  A bridge has one purpose really...to connect.  We use bridges to illustrate how God has made us with the desire to connect in relationships.  This goes for all people, especially students!

Listen to the words of the Apostle Paul “Under His direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.”

                                                                      Ephesians 4:16

Paul talks about 3 primary relationships or connecting points that should be active in the life of every Christian.

1. OUR CONNECTION TO GOD.

Our relationship to God is the most important connection of all.  Without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the others just don’t seem to work right.  This begins with salvation and then moves into becoming a disciple.  Paul says we are “under His direction”.  This connection primarily happens through personal Bible Study, Quiet Times, and Prayer.  Our desire is to be a youth ministry that is deeply connected to God.

2. OUR CONNECTION TO EACH OTHER.

The second relationship we believe God desires for us to be in is within the church.  Again, when Paul speaks about the connection within the body of Christ, it is described as “fitting together perfectly”.  Every student in our ministry who knows Christ is a vital part of this body.  We were all made different on purpose— different gifts, talents, abilities, interests, etc.  Our desire is to be a youth ministry that embraces diversity while striving for unity.  This is reflected in accountability, mentoring, and discipleship.

3. OUR CONNECTION TO THE WORLD.

The third relationship that God says is important is our relationship to the world.  Paul says “each part does its own special work”.  The work that God has called us to is to reach people for Jesus.  This is to be done through relationships with lost people.  Whether it be on a mission trip or someone who sits next to you in class, we are all to be connected to lost people with hopes of introducing them to Jesus Christ.

OUR PURPOSE STATEMENT

“We exist to build bridges that CONNECT us to

God, each other, and the world.”
